Office Phone Booth and Meeting Pod Guide

Matt Kelly, President & CEO · Updated October 2026

Open offices are great for collaboration and hard on phone calls, video meetings, and focus. A soundproof booth gives people a quiet, private space without building a new room. Here is how to choose the right size, plan the space, and budget for it.

The short answer

Choose a one-person booth for phone and video calls and focused work, a two-person booth for interviews and one-on-ones, and a 4 to 6 person meeting room when you need a small conference space without construction. Our Zenbooth booths range from $5,216 to $15,666, come with ventilation, lighting, power, and a desk, are built to order in about 30 days, and are made in the USA with a 3-year warranty.

What comes with every booth

  • Ventilation, lighting, and power. Quiet ventilation fans, LED lighting, and power outlets are built in. Lighting and ventilation switch on and off with a motion sensor.
  • A desk. One-person and two-person booths include a work surface, height-adjustable on the Solo Pro and Duo.
  • Healthier materials. Booths are made largely from renewable wood and recycled materials and are Intertek Clean Air GOLD certified for low VOC emissions.
  • Made in the USA. Each booth is designed and built in Berkeley, California, and carries a 3-year warranty.

Seating is not included, so plan a chair for each seat. A compact task chair or stool works best in a one-person booth. Browse office chairs.

Options and upgrades

  • Locking ADA door for the Solo and Duo (standard on the Quad).
  • Frosted door for extra visual privacy.
  • Acoustic side panels for the Solo Pro and Quad.
  • Seismic anchoring kit for buildings that require it.
  • 7-day rush manufacturing when you cannot wait for the standard build.
  • Professional installation by an experienced crew.

Ask us about any of these when you order and we will add them to your quote.

Before you order, check these

  • Floor space and clearance. Use the exterior dimensions above, and leave room in front of the door to swing open and for people to step in and out.
  • Ceiling height. Booths stand about 7 feet tall. Make sure you have clearance for the booth plus room to assemble it, and check that sprinklers and lights are not blocked.
  • Delivery path. Measure doorways, elevators, and hallway turns between the loading area and the final spot, and share them with us so we can confirm the booth will get there.
  • Power. Each booth needs access to power for its lights, fans, and outlets. Plan the location with power in mind, and ask us if you are unsure what your building has.
  • Placement. Booths work best out of main walkways and close to the teams who will use them most.
Pod or a new phone room?

A booth is furniture, not construction. It goes in without framing, drywall, or new ductwork, and it can move with you when you reorganize or relocate. That usually makes it faster to add and easier to change than building a room. Check with your building about any local requirements.
